BlackBerry's BBM to launch on Android and iOS

This announcement was made at the BlackBerry Live conference which was held in Orlando.
BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins
announced that BBM which was only available for Blackberry users is now expanding to iOS and Android and it'll be available for download this summer.

This means that BBM will be competing with other messaging apps such as Facebook Messenger, Skype, Whatsapp and other rivals.

The app would need at least iOS 6 for iPhone users and Ice Cream
Sandwich for Android users.
Heins called it a "statement of confidence" stating that BlackBerry is already strong.

This new version will feature the following:
Live BBM chats
Voice note sharing
Multi-person chats
BlackBerry Groups that will let users create groups of up to 30 people.

Later this year, screen sharing, voice and video calls will also be featured for free.
